Music City Center Announces March Numbers
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Music City Center announced today that the building generated over $40 million in direct economic impact during the month of March 2019.
The Music City Center hosted 21 events with 51,485 attendees, generating 38,260 total room nights with a direct economic impact of $40,034,239. Fiscal year-to-date 187 events have been hosted with an attendance of 331,925 and an economic impact of $262,162,669. Tax collections continue to outperform expectations, and future sales bookings continue to outpace previous years.
“We had a variety of events including the Corrosion 2019 Conference & Expo, which is the world’s largest event for prevention and mitigation of corrosion.,” said Charles Starks, President/CEO of Music City Center. “Additionally, we hosted the Nashville Home + Remodeling Expo and the 33rd annual Southern Women’s Show.”
The Convention Center Authority also announced that the Music City Center achieved 37.21 percent DBE participation in the third quarter of fiscal year 2019, spending $747,325 with minority, women-owned and small businesses. Additionally, the Music City Center’s contractors spent a combined $503,408 with DBE firms.
