Convention Center Authority Announces New Member

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Convention Center Authority announced the appointment today of a new member, Randy Rayburn, who was appointed by Mayor Megan Barry and confirmed by Metro Council last night.


Rayburn is a 40-year veteran of the Nashville hospitality industry. He began his career in the restaurant industry in 1975 and launched his first restaurant 15 years later. Today Rayburn owns and operates Midtown Café and Cabana. Rayburn has been very instrumental in working to expand the educational opportunities for chefs in Nashville and is an active board member for the Randy Rayburn School of Culinary Arts at Nashville State Community College. Rayburn has also served as a board member for the Metropolitan Convention Center Commission and the Metropolitan Auditorium Commission in past years.


“Randy’s years of experience in the hospitality industry make him a perfect fit for the Authority and we are so excited to have him on board,” said Charles Starks, President/CEO of the Music City Center. “His experience in sales, management and customer service will be incredibly valuable, and we look forward to having his insight and expertise.”
