Vision Plan

The first step in the development of the new convention center is creating a vision plan for the area where it will be built. The process examines existing conditions, primarily in the SoBro area, and anticipates the ways in which the new convention center will affect future growth in the downtown area. More specifically, the vision plan orients the building as to how the facility functions on the site and how it relates to other structures and existing buildings downtown.

Some key decisions that will be revealed through the vision plan include the locations for hotels, parking, expansion and other private development opportunities.
