NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Convention Center Authority announced the appointment of a new member, Irwin Fisher. Fisher was appointed by Mayor Karl Dean and confirmed by Metro Council last night.

Fisher previously served on the Metropolitan Convention Center Commission from February 1997 to June 2010 and as Chair of the commission for three terms.
"Irwin's years of experience in the hospitality industry make her a perfect fit for the Authority," said Charles Starks, President/CEO of the Music City Center. "As we transition into more of an operations mode, her expertise will be incredibly valuable and we are excited to have her on board."
Fisher's term will begin immediately and she will serve a four-year term.
