Position is responsible for the assisting with the coordination and supervision of the day to day activities of the event services department of the Music City Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of event schedules for all event managers/coordinators, assignment of events to Event Managers/Coordinators, the monitoring of work orders for accuracy and content. This position would be responsible for assisting the Director of Events with ensuring proper inter-departmental communication and coordination relating to event and providing leadership and responsibility for the department in the absence of the Director as well as contributing to the financial goals of the department and facility. Finally, this position would be required to serve as the Assistant to the Director of Event Services as Manager on Duty.
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred with five (5) plus years of direct experience and with three (3) years of supervisory experience in event or trade show management in the hospitality industry or any education/experience equivalent. Experience with a meeting room design software system or AutoCAD is a plus. Supervisory experience is also helpful. Successful candidate’s former experience should contain experience in a Convention Center, Conference Center Event Manager/Coordinator, or major Hotel Convention Service Manager role at a similar size facility.
